Andermatt can be found in the canton of Uri, but the capital is in fact Altdorf. Having never been there before we decided to visit the town on a winter Sunday morning. The highlight of the day trip was seeing the statue of Wilhelm Tell and climbing the clock tower alongside. Also, the Wilhelm Pizzeria just down the road is deserving of bearing his great name as the bruschetta and Caprese salad I had were excellent. I would definitely recommend a trip to the town but possibly visit in the summer, we found that all of their art and history museums were closed for the winter season.
