This year our week in Andermatt focused on specifically on our girls improving their skiing and their cousins learning how to ski. Andermatt, especially after the recent improvements is now ideal for just that.

We signed up all four kids for the five days of Ski School and enjoyed the Friday morning ski race; where they got to show off all their newly learned skills. Liam’s brother tried our snowboarding with the Alpine Sports and loved it.

For lunch we all either headed up to Gemstock to try out the Mountain Food options up there: the Terrace, PastaKeller and Igloo Bar are all great choices. But did spend most days on Natschen watching the little kids ski at the Kids Village and enjoying lunch at the new Kids Restaurant which is also run my Mountain Food and had an even more varied Menu. Favourites included the apple and celery soup, the Buffalo Mozarella Caprese Salad and all the typical Swiss dishes of Fischknusperli, Bratwurst, Alpenmacroni and a mean Hamburger! I was most impressed with their free water fountain offering both sparkling and still water on tap!

Whilst everyone skiied, I spent most days planning Liam’s upcoming party at the Chedi but Liam’s parents also took the scenic train trips to Realp and Disentus. So something I will have to try out next time.
