One of our columns on our blog has always been about Swiss Words and German Word of the Day. While today it is actually an English word that I misunderstood. I know that brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch and I therefore assumed that as most people eat breakfast in the morning at around 7/8am and lunch between 12 and 2pm that brunch would be smack in the middle. But as the all-knowing Google would have it Brunch is in fact between 11am and 2pm. Long story short, I ended up RSVPing to a brunch and a lunch for the same day and therefore the same time! What do you say? Surely a meal between 11am and 2pm is actually then just lunch? Or maybe one calls it brunch because eventhough it is at lunch time you are eating breakfast foods? Either way, I am not too much of a stickler for such details, afterall I Eat Cake for Breakfast!
