My friends visited Cape Town October last year and with three young boys decided to visit the South African Naval Museum and really enjoyed it. Hearing all about it and having not been before, we headed for Simons Town in search of the musuem. The musuem is located in the centre of Simons Town and parking is on the main road. The musuem is made up of two main buildings and the exhibits are very varied and for us each one unique having never seen so much maritime and naval photos and equipment before. Zara loved the submarine (that you could walk into), Bailey learned all about the naval flag alphabet and I found the sailor tattoo and toast charts fascinating!

A great way to spend a morning as they are open just about every day and no entrance fee albeit a donation welcome.
