When in Cape Town it is compulsory that you enjoy lots and lots of seafood. As I am a no shell, no eyes, no feelers type of person; I always opt for traditional fish and chips but as a former British outpost the Cape does not disappoint with this simple dish. Here are my three favourite go-tos:

Quay Four – At the Waterfront: one of the oldest restaurants at the dock and still the perfect stop for a casual lunch outdoors and by the water. If you are looking for something a bit more fancy say for dinner try Harbour House a few doors down or Baia inside the Mall. And another must mention is The Greek Fisherman!

Berthas – In Simons Town – We love it here sitting on the terrace, overlooking the pier and trying to spot the seals!

Mariners Wharf – Hout Bay – This has always been my favourite as I remember coming here as a kid when we had summer holidays in the Cape. It hasn’t changed at all and the seagulls still try their best to steal your chips!
