I’ve done it again, I’ve designed a Spare Bedroom that I think I love more than the Main Bedroom. In the Swiss Chalet Andermatt BEFOREs that I shared here, this wasn’t actually a bedroom. It was a bit of a loft with a bunk bed, a sleeper couch, book case and a desk. As we were changing the floors throughout the apartment, we decided it was a good time to wall in this loft area and knock through to the very long main bedroom bathroom and split it into two. So happy we did…

What an amazing transformation, we now have a proper spare bedroom with en suite bathroom. The room has been decorated in neutrals much like the rest of the apartment but with a few touches of royal blue. Also, as the room overlooks the end of the Gemstock ski slope, I’ve incorporated a bit of a ski theme: vintage ski posters, ski pillows and some custom made ski trail signs.

I’d overestimated the size of the space and so I had orginally planned for a desk to take the place of a side table, but now all I’ve got to do is add a small sidetable next to the wardrobe and it’s complete. But what does fit amazingly in the space is the four poster bed and my Mothers’ day present: the bamboo and fabric light fitting.
