As part of the Colmar Christmas Market many of the stalls outside have delicious food and drink options – we especially stopped for calisons, cheesy bread and Christmas punch (you have to collect the cups!). We also did some Christmas gift shopping from Le Comptoir de Mathilde (I loved the box of chocolate that comes with a hammer you use to break it up) and La Cure Gourmande (you will want to collect their biscuit tins especially as in every French city they have their own specially illustrated one).
But don’t worry if your planning does not have you in Colmar over Christmas. Market 4, the undercover market is around all year and has a huge range for foodies. In fact, it was our last stop on Sunday morning so we ended up buying baguettes, cheeses, salamis, foie gras and a few other classic French goodies for our dinner that night when we got back home!
