I have done very little skiing, and so I was confused as to what was meant by red and blue slopes, I knew black was the hardest and had no idea what was meant by a double black diamond. This had me researching and learning what do the Ski Trail signs actually mean. I learnt that there are different systems: In North America: Beginner is a green dot, Intermediate a blue square, expert a black diamond, and expert only is a double black diamond. In Europe however, it is all dots and beginner is blue, intermediate red and black expert.
With this in mind I decided it would be fun to create some artwork for our chalet using these symbols. I was origially just going to print and frame the graphic work I asked Amanda from Silvergate Design to make, but then I was conveniently reminded in an ad. emailer about Migros Photo Service and there photo wooden signs.
All I had to do was upload the jpegs, click on the size I wanted (20 x 20cm), a few more clicks and a week later these three awesome signs arrived by post. The quality is excellent and now I am seriously tempted to try it with photos and make larger ones. Definitely think this will be my Christmas gift idea for the grandparents.
