My new favourite idea I spotted on Pinterest for Christmas gift-giving is to make use of these “something tags”. Here you buy or make a few goodies along the lines of something your kids want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.

SOMETHING THEY WANT

This will be easy as I am sure your kids have their eyes on the latest toy or gadget. You may want to opt for a gift voucher if you are not 100% certain or if their wish is over your budget. For the Christmas Eve boxes I usually pop in some chocolate coins or cookies.

SOMETHING THEY NEED

Most likely you have a long list of things and supplies that they actually need. I often pick something school-related or for their bedroom; and as a joke for the box I pop in a toothbrush!

SOMETHING TO WEAR

As the new season rolls around and with growth spurts: new shoes, jacket or sports kit are good choices. Or how about some Christmas themed PJs.

SOMETHING TO READ

Last but not least, add to their library. Or create a tradition of reading a Christmas themed one.

This is also a fun idea to use when filling their Night Before Christmas Gift Box – or make one for the whole family. (This box is from gingerray.co.uk).
