We are so thrilled that our house in Cape Town was selected and is available for holiday rental by Kid and Coe. Here are the details and their little write up:
Perks for the Parents – This historic Cape Town residence is well set-up for a family stay, with a full kitchen and 12 seater dining area. The master bedroom is luxurious and has a separate dressing room and ensuite bathroom. The outdoor spaces are beautiful, with a large garden and comfortable seating. Catch some warm African sun lounging at the pool, take a walk through the neighborhood, or enjoy a glass of Cape wine while watching the sun set. It is a great house for families or groups wanting to explore the Cape Town area.
Why Kids Love it – The residence has plenty of toys and books for kids under 10 and is a lovely family space with a living room and separate TV room. A crib, high chair, baby toys and a baby bath can be provided on request. It is around 20 minutes’ drive from Cape Town’s beaches. The garden has a generous lawn, great for games, and a large pool. The downstairs garden suite would suit a nanny or au pair perfectly. The kids bedroom, at the top of the house, has a bunk bed and is filled with toys, games and playful details.
Things to Know – Note that the minimum stay is 5 days. The house is safe and secure in a gated complex made up of 4 houses. There is an alarm on the house and a night guard in the complex. The house is double story – there are no stair gates. There is a large enclosed outdoor split-level garden space and a swimming pool (which is not fenced and has no pool net). There is a double garage as well as 2 outdoor canopied parking bays. As is the case with most South African destinations, car hire is essential.
About the Location – The home has panoramic views of the Southern Suburbs, and is located within a short distance of amenities. The property is located in an upmarket section of Kenilworth known for its stately homes on spacious grounds. The city centre is a 10-minute drive away, with the beaches of Muizenberg and Clifton approximately 20 minutes’ drive and Kirstenbosch Gardens 5 minutes’ drive away. Cape Town International Airport is 20 minutes away, 22.2km.
Accommodation Details – The home has 4 bedrooms and bathrooms plus a garden suite. There are 4 reception rooms, a full kitchen and 12-seater dining area, a terraced garden, a swimming pool and a double garage. The master bedroom has a dressing room and ensuite bathroom with double shower and soaking tub. Bedroom 2 has a kingsize bed, while bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. Bedroom 4, upstairs, has a bunkbed. Downstairs there is a garden suite with an ensuite shower and toilet and a lounge area with sofa bed.
Style Notes – Modern, relaxed and elegant. The residence is luxurious, with quirky touches included an array of designer wallpaper, and refined contemporary details throughout. We love the outdoor spaces, with comfortable seating and divine views, along with the sleek bathrooms and the fun-packed kids room. The property is a blend of old and new, having a significant history and character, but also having been beautifully restored and updated for contemporary and secure living.
