This Summer we aren’t going to Cape Town, but guests are going next week and so I thought I would post a few more photos of some of the rooms that I designed and haven’t yet shared – starting with the hallway. I have always dreamed of having a entrance hall where you enter the front door and there is staircase in front of you. Not only does the house have such a flight of stairs but it ended up being the perfect spot for a set of pictures I had framed. I took simple letterpressed coasters from Esie Letterpress, one of each South African province and had these individually framed. The oversized frames work well as the artwork is then not too overpowering, but fills the wall going up to the second floor, plus the black frames and inlay tie in well with the wooden bead chandelier hanging over head.
Other favourite details inlcude the bird table lamp, the framed Rifle Paper Co. greeting cards, the JHB and CT art prints from Anatomy Design and metal Kudu hooks that match the house’s logo.
A few extras have been added since these photos were taken: mainly lots and lots of books for the shelves on the landing. The idea being that they follow an all blue and white theme but I still have to souce many more before it will be pretty!
