We have been meaning to go the restaurant Gütsch in Andermatt all season long and finally yesterday we made it. The interior is gorgeous and what with the restaurant being at 2340m with huge big open windows and a sunny day – we had views of the snow capped mountains as far as the eye could see. It was no wonder the waiters were wearing sunglasses – I kid you not!
The food and service were impeccable and whilst the menu on offer was limited (5 each of starters, mains and desserts) we were still pressed for choice. In the end most of us decided on the lamb which was perfect, and the truffle pasta (homemade of course!) was excellent. The best for me was their beet cake served with sour ice cream; the girls naturally opted for “The Chocolate” and were treated with three different options!
We had a lovely lunch, the perfect way to end the ski season and school term and would definitely return again – hopefully for their summer menu!
