So we are nearly half way in our Lent and this year we gave up meat for the first time. It has been tough but slowly by surely we are finding meals that are working well, and then some not so great. One good thing about this adventure is that we are trying new things: I usually don’t like seafood but made Asian stir fry with shrimp the other night and the girls had tofu for the first time. I am hoping at the end of the 40 days, we will continue to cut out more meat than before and not only be super strict about Meatless Mondays but also bring on Fishy Friday! One thing that has saved us has been Vegetarian Pizza! So if you are thinking of giving up meat, even just a little this is a good way to start.

MY VEGE PIZZA SHOPPING LIST: Ready-made pizza dough, tomato pasta sauce, cherry tomatoes, mozarella, cheddar, feta cheese, olives, onions, bell peppers, oregano, basil, and then avocado of course!
