Late last year, I shared how I am trying to come up with a little Breakfast Menu for our family, and today I am talking about eggs. Liam and Bailey LOVE eggs, I like them but only very specific kinds and Zara is a flat-out “nope”. In my attempt to trying to get her to eat eggs, we have been trying all the different ways and I have to say it has been a great experiment for us grown ups as well. We’ve realised we actually enjoy different options and I learnt how to properly prepare some of the “rarer” versions too.

First up, is the classic boiled egg. Now, Liam and Bailey are in the Soft Boiled Egg Camp and I am in the “Kill My Egg, make sure it is Dead” one. However, lately I have been getting my eggs all wrong and have had to give away or toss the gooey ones out. I just can’t eat them like that. So I went online and did some research and realise that I have just been too impatient and that I really do need to leave them in for a good nine minutes.

Other cool tips I learnt: 1. Make sure the water covers the eggs by at least a cm or two. 2. Initially boil the water, but turn down to a “simmer”. 3. Found this great video showing the easiest way to peel them!
