A few days ago, Liam and I were chatting and he asked me what furniture are we taking with us to the new house and I was suddenly reminded that our two wooden armchairs (which we will never get rid of) still don’t have a designated spot. The problem being that they take up alot of space, so are not able to just sit in a corner of a bedroom or a passage. It then got me thinking about how they actually don’t suit many of our rooms now as they are a deep dark mahogany wood and most of our woods are now light tones: oak or birch. In fact, I joked with him the only place they would match would be the wine cellar but there is no space for them as we have all the new custom wine shelves being built and the large oak Swiss pantry cupboard. And in saying that I realised the pantry takes up a large chunk of the wine cellar and technically it doesn’t have to go in the wine cellar and could actually go in my studio or studio storerroom and this would then free up the perfect place for the armchairs. This got me excited and now we have a little lounge planned for the room.

The best part if that so all of the items are from my list of “not sure where to put them but definitely keeping list” which now thanks to this space is so much shorter. I am toying with teh idea of painting the back wall a different colour but we will see, maybe the current limestone colour is just perfect anyway…
