After our first full morning of touring the city of Jerash, we headed back to the capital of Jordan – Amman for a traditional Jordanian lunch. We were totally spoiled for choice at Tawaheen al-Hawa.The starter “mezze” was a huge spread of everything we love about Meditteranean/Middle Eastern food: think arabiac salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, labaneh, moutabal, olives, pickled vegetables; all served with just baked flat bread. Luckily, we warned that this was just for starters, and we enjoyed the best “kebab” or as they like to call it “hash nash” I have ever eaten! Last but not least, we tried some sweet honey and flaky mini pastry desserts, fresh fruit and Turkish coffee. A great place to try all that Jordan has to offer and the service fast and friendly too!
