When Bailey and I headed to Bern for the day, it was a great opportunity to teach her all about travelling by train. We ran through the basics of buying a ticket at the machine, how to read the big overhead board, getting to the correct platform, standing on the correct side, waiting for the correct train and getting into the right carriage. It was great that I could I explain these details to her one-on-one without any distractions and not having to be in a hurry. It was also funny to share with her the stories of me first catching a train at age 25 and making so many mistakes when doing it: not knowing how to buy a ticket from the machine, going to the wrong platform, getting on the wrong train and incorrectly sitting in the first class carriage! Hopefully, she will not make ALL the mistakes I did!
