Luzern’s biggest and most beautiful attraction must be the lake. There’s not a chance you will miss it as it is literally a few steps from the main exit of the Main Train Station. Just walk under the enormous welcoming arch and you will find yourself right by the jetty where you can hop on board a boat to tour the lake if you like.

Or turn right and head to the KKL (The Culture and Congress Centre in Lucerne is a multi-functional building with a concert hall that is esteemed for its high-profile acoustics) to catch a live concert performance.

Or turn left and head to the iconic Kapellbrücke (The Chapel Bridge and the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe featuring painitngs from the 17th century). One can then opt to cross this bridge or the motorway one to get the Old Town of Luzern. Here along the lake you can rent a pedalo and head out onto the “see” or walk a little bit further and enjoy the tree lined promenade. And yet still there is the another option to get out onto the blue as here you can catch the Steamboat Wilhelm Tell which takes you on a tour and you can enjoy a traditional Swiss meal on board too.
