Part of our summer to-do list was to try out a new restaurant; and as we had to deliver a few more house goodies to Andermatt, we decided to try out The Japanese Restaurant which is part of The Chedi. We booked in advance but unfortunately there was a mix up and they had only reserved a table for two guests; fortunately we could sit at the counter and this ended up being a great option as the girls could watch all the food being prepared.
The menu is varied and has everything one would expect from a five star Japanese restaurant. And yes, Zara typically still ordered her favourite salmon and avocado sushi. But at least they tried miso soup, dumplings and even a bit of salmon caviar. But I think the latter was mostly enjoyed in trying to lift the little balls with chopsticks as opposed to the tasting part.
The restaurant is expensive, especially if you are looking to have a full three/four/five course meal. But I do think we would look to go back for some sushi and I would definitely go just for their desserts!
