In autumn, we visited Wassen for the annual “alpabzug”. Countless people lined the street ready to see the lovingly and festively decorated cows descending the alps for the winter months. In addition to the parade, we visited the town’s handicraft market, listened to the traditional alphorn, watched flag throwing and there was even a petting-zoo. But we think one of the visitor’s Bernese Mountain puppy might have stolen our hearts! Second only to the goats eating the beautifully decorated flower beds!
