When travelling to the French side we decided to stay the night in Montreux, that way we could enjoy the days to the fullest and not have to worry about the long drive home. And as it was just one night, we decided to splurge and stayed at the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace situated on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, overlooking the Alps. It is beautiful and we enjoyed having a late lunch at Montreux Jazz Café, swimming in their pool, a stroll along the “Swiss Rivieria” and then dinner at La Terrasse du Petit Palais.
The hotel is everything you would hope for and if you are a jazz fan; Montreux is a must during the season and for Queen music fans the Freddie Mercury statue is just a few steps away.
