When I planned our long weekend in Vienna, I totally under estimated how much there is to do and see in the Austrian City. We barely made a dent in the “must-see-and-do” list and frankly it is such a lovely city that you could also just spend hours and hours walking around the pristine streets with their ornate buildings, looking out for the architectural delights, doing a spot of window shopping and popping into a café or two for a cup of coffee and cake!

But we did make the most of our time there and I am certain we will be back. Over the next few days, I will be sharing some of the things we got up to but for now our number one travel tip for you is to find the big red bow if you are travelling around the holiday season.

This giant red bow of lights can be found on the side of Popp & Kretschmer building, across from the State Opera and the Sacher Hotel (Kärntner Straße 51). Not only was it the perfect spot to have the girls’ photo taken but it served as a good landmark for us when we got lost on many an occasion!
