I wish I had taken before photos of our balcony that leads off our main bedroom. We never use this space but as I was clearing out our garage I found bits and pieces of furniture and decorative items and decided to try them out in this space.
Part of the balcony is actually under cover, so by adding the old white wooden shelves from my shop, I could display all my “sea” and “beach” themed goodies without them getting wet. None of the vases, frames or trinkets are special so if they get dusty or damaged at least they were on display instead of in a box in the garage. Same goes for the rug on the floor – I actually had it in the recycling area ready to toss and then I thought I’d pop it upstairs onto the pati until it finally gives up the ghost.
And now, without actually buying one thing, we have a fabulous new balcony all set for sundowners.
