Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to decorate a home with with two things: a hallway with framed family photographs all the way down both sides and a side/server table just filled with silver framed photographs. Unfortunately, Liam has wanted neither of these. For the past few weeks (or months, or years – it’s a never ending saga) I’ve been trying to clear out our garage and storeroom. One of the things I have been reluctuant to just toss are some white shelves and picture ledges I used to have in the Zug Shop. I just know the day I toss them out, the very next day I will have to go back to IKEA and buy the exact same thing!
But I’ve been pushing myself to “use it or lose it” and I suddenly realised that I could create a “new” dream without stepping on Liam’s toes too much, and have one less thing in the garage. I had our handyman John mount one of the white shelves to a narrow wall space just outside our room (a mini stair landing) and have filled the shleves with books and silver framed photos – I’m so chuffed and I’m calling it The Gallery Shelf. I think it could catch on…
